MASTER COURSES FOR DESIGN IN INDIA

National Institute of Design:

NID curriculum comprises of both theory and practical knowledge and skills. 

It is located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Gandhinagar. It is a 2.5-year program available in 19 disciplines across three campuses. The courses include Animation film design, Apparel design, Digital Game design, etc.

Eligibility: 

The student must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum four year period in any specialization from any recognized university or institute or Bachelor’s degree of minimum three year period in any specialty after 12 the standard.

Admission Process:

An entrance exam is conducted, and candidates are selected based on that. Candidates can apply only to a maximum of two disciplines for the master’s program. The percentage of seats that are allotted for candidates belonging to various categories are followed as per Government of India guidelines.

For Overseer Students:

The students are eligible only under the overseas category and must fulfill all the criteria mentioned under the institute’s guidelines. There are limited seats available.

National Institute of Fashion Technology

At NIFT, a student gets exposed to high standards in fashion, design, technology. Keeping the current global trends in mind, they focus on developing the student’s creativity and intelligence. They have campuses all over India.

Eligibility: 

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or institute or undergraduate diploma of three years from NIFT.

Career Options:

There are many opportunities available after completion of the course. They are Design thinkers, Visual Designer, trend analysts, design evangelist, and many more.

Industrial Design Centre (Mumbai)

They believe in building leaders in the manufacturing and communication industry. Their focus is on students to develop the skills and knowledge required for the current changing industry.

Eligibility:

It is the same requirement as the above institutes. Also, you have to clear the common entrance exam. 

Career options:

Industrial designer, product designer, user experience designer
